Henry VI
1421-1471
King of England, Henry II of France
The Lancastrian Henry succeeded to the English throne from his father Henry V aged only nine months and was the only English monarch to also be crowned King of France. Tumultuos times and mixed fortunes both domestically and in France led to the loss of both crowns and he died (probably murdered) in the Tower of London after being usurped and imprisoned by the Yorkist Edward IV.
"Kingdoms are but cares, State is devoid of stay, Riches are ready snares, And hasten to decay."
